The Final Plan Document is the primary planning document prepared for implementing development activities in panchayats. It details all the projects intended to be executed within the boundaries of the panchayat during a financial year.
Key features and stages of the Final Plan Document include:
Project Formulation: Projects are initiated based on the needs and suggestions raised by the public in the Grama Sabhas.
Working Group Review: Working groups across various sectors—such as agriculture, health, education, and infrastructure—examine these suggestions and prepare project proposals.
Development Seminar: The prepared project proposals are presented at a development seminar to synthesize the opinions of elected representatives and experts.
Governing Body Approval: The governing body meeting of the local self-government institution (panchayat) grants official approval to these projects.
DPC Approval: The plan document passed by the governing body is submitted to the District Planning Committee (DPC) for final approval. Upon receiving DPC approval, it officially becomes the 'Final Plan Document' for the financial year.
